A great range of handicraft was on display for judging and submitted by CWA members from Bowral to Exeter in the Southern Highlands and Milton to Kiama on the coast.
The day was coordinated ably by Wollondilly Group Handicraft Officer Lynne Grady, an award-winning knitter herself.
The Nowra CWA branch took out the honours on the day winning the Wollondilly Group Rose Bowl Trophy for handicraft with a score of 677.
Nowra Branch Handicraft officer, Barbara Grant, said she was thrilled as it had been 22 years since Nowra won the trophy.
Barbara also paid tribute to the members of her branch who worked so hard on the items put forward for judging.
Second place went to Milton District Branch with 671 points closely followed by the Kiama Day and Southern Highland Evening branches both with 668 points.
There were only 32 points between the highest and lowest scoring branch which indicates the competition was close
Judges Val Farrington and Gloria Coombe of Illawarra commented on the quality, variety and uniqueness of the handicraft submitted - a credit to CWA Wollondilly members.
From the Branch handicraft submitted that had scored above 85, eight items were chosen to go on to the State Handicraft Competition at Albury in May, plus first placed items in individual categories.
These items can have entries from members of the public, junior and male competitors.
A wonderful day that highlighted the creativeness of CWA.
