The Gerringong Association, which was formed last October, has launched a new campaign and website tiled Escape to Gerringong, which aims to promote everything the small town has to offer. The website features everything from food and wine recommendations, to accommodation, health and wellness.
Gerringong Association member Julie Carlill said the campaign was all about bringing people to Gerringong, whether it be to live, stay or play.
"Our mission is really clear, and that's to make Gerringong the most desirable place to live, work, visit and belong," she said.
"I think the website really ticks a lot of those boxes. It's the one stop shop where people can come and find out about what's going on in Gerringong, the best places to eat, drink, shop and relax."
Ms Carlill said the website would also serve as a tool for local businesses to promote their services.
"It really encourages people to bring some awareness to the services they may not already know about here in Gerringong," she said.
"We are looking at opportunities to get businesses collaborating and working together in interesting ways through the website as well."
President of the association Andrew Wales said the mission of the group and the accompanying website was to promote collaboration and a greater sense of community in the area.
"There is a genuine desire in the community and businesses to be part of a group that is seeking to make Gerringong a destination in its own right, rather than just an afterthought of Kiama," he said.
"Gerringong has so much to offer and the whole point of the website is to enable Gerringong businesses and groups to feature on the website, which shows the appeal of this community."
The group has partnered with Kiama Council to ensure the community is heard, and their ideas and thoughts are brought to the table.
Ms Carlill said the website's purpose was to act as an umbrella service for all businesses and community groups in Gerringong.
"There's a lot of great energy and ideas around, and we want the website to act as the umbrella organisation to connect the dots, to try and make things happen," she said.
