Carroll played in Glory's two losing grand finals - a 3-1 loss to Canberra in 2014 and a 2-0 loss to Melbourne City in 2017.

Perth started hot favourites in both matches and are aiming to break their title drought in Saturday's grand final against Sydney FC at Jubilee Stadium.

Carroll has endured a season to forget, suffering a serious knee injury in round two.

She was also sent off in that match, with a subsequent quad injury delaying her return.

The 23-year-old made her return off the bench in last week's dramatic 4-2 semi-final win over Melbourne Victory and is set for another bench role in the grand final.

Carroll said the heartbreak of being part of two losing grand finals was hard to swallow.

"It's tough," she said.

"The first grand final we made we'd won the league that year with a couple of games to spare.

"So to do all that work and then lose it at the final hurdle was heartbreaking.

"And then the grand final after that, same again. Home final in front of a good crowd and we lost it again. It was pretty disappointing."

Carroll said it was crucial for Glory to shut down in-form Sydney FC striker Caitlin Foord.

But Glory also boast plenty of strike power, with golden boot winner Kerr the biggest figure in the match.

"We have so much confidence in her and what she can do," Carroll said.

"We know that we can always rely on Sam.

"We want to play football and knock the ball around but we know we've always got the outlet over the top if we need her.

"She's a great person as well as a great player. We love having her here."
