Both in their 80s, playing, walking members Geoff and Lance were recently presented with plaques from Clubs NSW and made honorary members.
A great honor.
They can remember back to 1981 when the basic requirement for joining the club was a bag of clubs, a slasher and plenty of spare time.
Geoff has been a board member since 1981 acting as secretary when the club was incorporated.
Between the two they have served the club for 37 years, 15 years each as captain and president.
Both men have been at every club flood and tornado clean up.
They have a wealth of knowledge and continue to assist the present board.
Jamberoo Golf Club would not be what it is today without its volunteers, there are too many to mention.
They were volunteering in June, 1996 when 18 holes were completed for the club’s membership of 1000 people.
These two volunteers have seen and made decisions for the club in cooperation with long time greenkeeper John Duncan, 25 years, to make it the great course it is.
