The students have turned the renovated shipping container into a giant artwork, the container now boasts murals celebrating the beach while including water safety themes.
The lifeguards’ new office is one a several additions to patrolled beaches this summer, in preparation for the summer school holidays.
A new life guard tower has been set up at Kendalls Beach, matching the existing tower at Surf Beach.
Council lifeguards and volunteer lifesavers will be patrolling Jones, Bombo, Surf, Kendalls, Easts, Werri and Seven Mile Beach throughout the holidays.
Council lifeguards start their patrols Saturday, December 15 until Monday, January 28. Patrol times at all beaches are 10am-6pm, apart from Surf Beach which is 9am-6pm.
Surf Beach will remain patrolled until Anzac Day on Thursday, April 25.
The lifeguards have reminded locals and visitors to always swim or surf at patrolled beaches and swim between the red and yellow flags.
