Her luscious, seductive and sometimes unnerving paintings brought together as ‘Golden Days’, turns 17th – 19th century art, poetry, text, fashion and film on its head.
“Drawn to Rembrandt, Vermeer and Rachel Ruysch’s luminosity, technical virtuosity and a sense of harmony, I began to draw on the parallels between 17th century Holland, colonial and 21st century Australia,” Seres said.
Seres was the recipient of the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Konica Minolta Redlands Prize and the Sydney Airport Prize and was the artist for the TV show Love My Way.
