Destination Kiama and Kiama Municipal Council have begun the countdown to the Kiama Sky Show, with little more than 21 days until the New Year’s Eve spectacular.
The 2018 Sky Show will again feature the spectacular fireworks display, which will see more than 500 fireworks light up the night sky, accompanied by 96.5 Wave FM’s music simulcast.
Last year’s popular laser shows will then turn Kiama Harbour into an otherworldly stage.
A new attraction will be an Eat Street precinct offering taste sensations from around the world, and the all-important coffee.
The Kiama and District Business Chamber is once again providing live music in Hindmarsh Park, with country music star Catherine Britt the headline act.
The iconic Laurie’s Carnival will also be in full swing at School Flat, with rides for the young and young at heart.
Destination Kiama is once again encouraging everyone to come early and stay late, to make the most of New Year’s Eve.
There will be food and entertainment from 4pm, and there’s a second laser show at 9.30pm.
Visitors are encouraged to enjoy our restaurants and cafes and linger to enjoy the final hours of 2018 along the beautiful Kiama foreshore, including Blowhole Point.
This year getting to and from Kiama will be easier than ever.
Sydney Trains will be running extra Kiama services, and the will be additional parking at Minnamurra and Gerringong stations for those who want to park and ride.
There will also be a drop-off point near the harbour, and viewing area, for people using wheelchairs.
The Sky Show will also be the greenest so far, with stallholders providing plates, cutlery and cups that can recycled or composted. The show is also a smoke-free event.
