The Gerroa product opened her competition, event number 10 on the Championships Tour, by winning heat number six of the opening round.
Fitzgibbons score of 14.63 saw her edge out United States pair Caroline Marks (12.43) and Bronte Macaulay (11.90).
This win saw her progress straight through to round three, where she was matched up against France’s Johanne Defay and Hawaii’s Alana Blanchard.
Fitzgibbons, the current world number seven, kept her strong form going in heat number one of this round, winning with a score of 17.60 – easily accounting for Defay (11.67) and Blanchard (9.76).
But Fitzgibbons 2018 season would come to an end in the quarter-final, where she was bundled out of contention by Hawaii’s Malia Manuel (15.00 to 4.67).
The final was won by Carissa Moore, who edged out Hawaiian counterpart Manuel 18.67 to 14.67.
