The ever popular Jamberoo Car Show and Family Day raised a total of $17,000, with Jamberoo Rural Fire Service (RFS) and the Jamberoo Red Cross each receiving $8,500.

The third annual event, attracted more than 3000 people at Jamberoo Oval, and a record 500 entries.
Jamberoo Red Cross vice-president Amanda Large said the money will go towards supporting several local programs such as food security and young parents, as well as assisting in times of natural disasters here and overseas.
“It is both humbling and exhilarating – Jamberoo is a very small community but very very generous,” she said.
“The car show triples its population for the day, but the people of Jamberoo are good humoured about the crowds and traffic as it’s all for two great causes, as well as being a really terrific day.”
RFS fundraising officer Jo Grant said the money would go towards essential maintenance and equipment.
“The unit will use the money to put towards the cost of a thermal imaging camera, which detects hotspots in structural and bush fires so that they can be completely extinguished,” she said.
