Held at Honolua Bay in Maui, Hawaii, the waiting period for surfers, such as Gerroa’s Sally Fitzgibbons, opens on Sunday, November 25 and runs through Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
Although she is out of the race for the 2018 World Title, world number seven Fitzgibbons is determined to claim her first piece of WSL silverware this season – with two third place finishes being her top results in 2018.
She will start her Beachwaver Maui Pro assault in heat six of the opening round against United States’ Caroline Marks and Australia’s Bronte Macaulay.
Two-time reigning World Champion Tyler Wright, from Culburra Beach, has again withdrawn from the competition, due to ongoing health issues, which has seen her miss the past five CT events.
