After successfully launching WorkLife Berry in September 2017, founder Kate Dezarnaulds said co-working was the future for thriving regional business communities.
“With economic pressures and flexible working increasing, the trend we’re seeing is people moving out of the city for a more balanced lifestyle,” she said.
“Yet the reality of working from home alone is not so great. People still have a need to connect with other people and would like to mix up their environment.
“WorkLife Kiama is co-working designed for people who would rather work in a community than around the dining table.”
The hub offers small business people, freelancers, entrepreneurs and commuters the opportunity to work in a fully equipped, furnished space without the set-up costs.
“It’s all about thinking globally, but living your best life locally,” Ms Dezarnaulds said.
“Our focus is on developing a thriving community and we’re big believers in the energy that comes from bringing a diverse group of can-do people together. It provides inspiration, collaboration and connection.”
WorkLife provides options for all working preferences and budgets, from hot desks to dedicated desk or exclusive office suites. Memberships start at $55 plus GST per week and gives members visiting rights to WorkClub Sydney, Barangaroo and Melbourne.
“Whether you need a meeting room for a team brainstorm, a quiet place for a video conference, a sunny verandah for your phone calls or a refreshing lunch break, or a comfy lounge to read your board papers from - we have you covered,” Ms Dezarnaulds said.
The official launch event and opening exhibition will be held at 5pm on Friday, November 9 at 29 Collins Street, Kiama and will showcase the work of artist Jade Fisher.
“We are delighted to be showcasing the work of Jade Fisher as our first WorkLife Kiama artist,” Ms Dezarnaulds said.
“Jade's joyful, colour infused paintings will enliven all the senses as we open the doors to WorkLife Kiama. We welcome all members of the local community and would love to see you there.”
Local musician Greg Townley will also be playing on the night.
ABOUT JADE FISHER
Jade’s passion for art began at a young age while growing up in a seaside town in England surrounded by creative eccentrics. Her neighbour was an amazing artist and she was captivated by her paintings.
As she immersed herself into the creative world she discovered a passion for fine art and textile design. She graduated with an honours degree and became a successful fashion designer working with high-end fashion houses in London and Sydney. She travelled the world designing beautiful garments and bringing them to life.
She relished every bit of the exciting, glamorous life that was fashion, but she also had a romantic vision of seaside life, a family, and painting. In 2012 that dream came true when she moved to Gerringong.
The magnificent landscapes allowed her desire for art to magnify. She had arrived…in her place, in her heart, in her mind and on this journey that she hopes brings happiness to you too.
She paints in oils onto canvas. Her palette is pastel ‘ice-cream’ hues combined with pops of bright. She uses bold brush strokes, often with exaggerated tones.
This past year has seen her work range from florals and the female figure, to animals and birds.
She has recently ventured into a world of abstract seascapes inspired by local beaches.
Her current ‘Colour Dance’ exhibition is a celebration of all the beautiful places around Kiama and surrounding areas. She uses playful, bright colours to portray the happy times she has spent in those places.
