It has been a momentous couple of weeks for Kiama Lions. Firstly there was the Area Lions Convention in Bomaderry at which our member Peter Scifleet was confirmed as District Governor.
But most significantly the Carers Cottage is 99 per cent complete and has been shown to the public. The reaction from those who visited on the Open days was extremely positive and complimentary. We now await the Certificate of completion from the Council and signing of the lease, then we can start letting some carers try it out. There will be an official opening at a later date when we shall invite all those whose names feature on our Donors Board.
Our last Dinner meeting was a combined BBQ with Minnamurra and Gerringong Lions. It was held at the cottage and we threw on a BBQ. It was a great evening and we had an amazing turnout of Lions. We are now concentrating on Relay for Life and the Matinee Theatre's performances. Then we will be helping Kiama Public School with a BBQ at the Market.
