The development has been the talk of the town since it was announced on Friday.
The development application, lodged with Kiama Council, stated additions to the existing shopping centre and the additional car park was estimated to cost $14,996,000.
The DA, incomplete at this stage, appeared on council’s website this week and was lodged on Tuesday, October 16.
Council staff have been waiting for the proponent to supply all necessary documents and plans.
A council spokesman said once all plans and documents are received, proceeding to public exhibition would normally only take a week or two.
After the public exhibition period, a report must be prepared for Kiama Councillors to consider.
All developments over $2 million are automatically reported to council meetings for approval or refusal.
Given the size of the development and the level of public interest, this would take some time to prepare.
It’s anticipated a report may be ready for councillors to consider in early 2019.
At present there are 195 car parking spaces.
The Terralong Street site is 5191 square metres.
