A 47-year-old man has been charged after a house party in Kiama Downs escalated into a “brawl” allegedly involving 30 people on Gibraltar Avenue.

Two people were injured and taken to hospital on Saturday night.
Just before 11pm it is understood a physical altercation took place on the street.
NSW Police and four NSW Ambulance crews attended the scene.
Police report upon arrival, the situation calmed immediately.
Paramedics have reported an 18-year-old woman sustained a head wound and was transported to hospital in a serious condition. The teen was conscious, breathing, heavily intoxicated, tried to refuse medical assessment and transport to hospital.
Police attended to the injured female and then obtained details of the incident from witnesses.
Bystanders said at least two males were involved in the melee.
Witnesses said the female teenager was hit with an empty beer bottle and a fence paling. It is understood she was taken to Shellharbour Hospital.
Paramedics also treated a 19-year-old man who sustained a deep laceration to his forehead in the brawl.
The young man was conscious, breathing and in a stable condition.
It is understood he was taken to Wollongong Hospital.
Witnesses said some partygoers became involved in the brawl while attempting to break up the fight.
Responding police blocked the road between Riverside Drive and North Kiama Drive to through-traffic before asking partygoers to leave.
The crowd dispersed at about 11.30pm.
Lake Illawarra’s Sergeant Ellen Jackson said police had charged a 47-year-old man from the Kiama Downs area.
The man is due to appear before Kiama Local Court on December 3, charged with malicious damage and armed with intent.
Police will allege the injured teenage girl was knocked unconscious with a fence paling.
Police arrested the man soon afterwards.
Sgt Jackson said police may yet lay more charges.
”Police still making further inquiries, because of the number of people involved,” she said.
“Police are still in the process of interviewing witnesses to ascertain if any other offenders can be identified.”
