The session started at 5pm with a skills session run by Matt O’Brien and Kyle Williams, before the players took to the field for a few games of league touch.
According to Carl Middleton, the feedback from the players and parents yesterday has been extremely positive.
“There was a great vibe down at Chittick Oval yesterday with the boys embracing this new and exciting game of league touch,” he said.
“There are some elements similar to rugby league with markers at the play the ball and kicks in general play – so it was a lot of fun!”
The competition will continue for another five weeks – every Tuesday night until November 20.
“The good news is that boys aged 12 to 16 years can still register to take part – it’s just $25 for registration, a t-shirt and bag,” Middleton said.
