Jamberoo Country Women’s Association will hold the annual event, Opera in the Valley, at the Jamberoo School of Arts.
In its 21st year, the event will be again under the direction of maestro Glenn Amer who plays piano like Liberace and sings like Mario Lanza.
Performers include soprano Alison Robertson, mezzo-soprano Virginia Marie Stack, baritone Daniel Macey and the ever-popular tenor Richard Lane.
Alison has just returned to Australia having completed a Diploma of Opera in London and a Masters of Music at the Royal Northern College of Music.
Virginia began her career in New Zealand. She has a wide vocal range and full lower register. She has been in demand as an oratorio and concert artist in both Australia and New Zealand.
Daniel is a young baritone who studied at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music where he completed an Advanced Diploma of Opera. Daniel’s voice floats evenly and beautifully through tricky terrain.
Richard is a popular tenor from Moss Vale who stands at six foot four, and is a former rugby union front-rower. He has a rich and powerful voice. Richard started singing later than most but got bitten by ‘the bug’ and his singing has gone from a hobby to a dream. He’s developed into one of the finest voices in the Illawarra.
Tickets include wine and cheese at interval and a traditional CWA supper after the performance where you can mingle with the artists. Tickets sell quickly so if you’re interested, get in early.
Tickets cost $50 per person and are on sale at Elders Jamberoo. Contact Elders on 4236 0891.
