Folk by the Sea Kiama
With 45 acts and 100 performances over three days, this year’s Folk By The Sea line-up includes Tasmanian “convict-inspired” punk-folk band The Dead Maggies, NSW Celtic band Mad Kelpie Playdate and Melbourne gypsy jazz quartet The Royal High Jinx.

Festival-goers looking for more traditional folk acts will be treated to some of Britain’s finest folk artists, including British folk royalty Ken Nicol and Alan Reid.
The 2018 Folk By The Sea festival will again be based at the Kiama Showground, with additional venues nearby at the Anglican Church and the Uniting Church.
The event is a combination of ticket only entry featuring the artists from overseas and all around Australia and a free day of local folk artists on the Sunday in the The Pavilion.
On Sunday evening the festival will wrap up at Kiama Bowling Club, with six acts between 5-10pm, culminating in the popular Kiama band The Water Runners at 9pm.

Second Hand Saturday
Second Hand Saturday gives Kiama residents the chance to sell, trade, or give away their unwanted items to prevent them from going to landfill.
You must be a resident of the Kiama Municipality to register for a site at this event.
Gold coin entry with proceeds going to a local not-for-profit organisation.

GDHS presents Andrea Hope and Colonial Art in the Illawarra
Local gallery owner, arts administrator, art history educator and writer will give an talk about the work of 19th century artists in the Illawarra.
The talk will feature artists such as Conrad Martens, Eugene Von Guerard and Georgina Lowe.
The event is hosted by Gerringong and District Historical Society.
All welcome, gold coin entry for visitors. Afternoon tea and general meeting to follow.

Book Signing - Beyond the Break
Darren Longbottom and Tim Rushby-Smith will tell the tale of a freak accident, a terrifying rescue, and the long and painful journey home, which has been documented in book Beyond the Break.
This author talk and book signing is free. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

South Coast Sevens Gerringong
South Coast Sevens is a summer soccer based tournament open to all players 16 years and older.
The fast paced football festival brings players from all over the state to battle it out for prize money and the chance to be crowned 7s champions for 2018.

Jamberoo RFS Kids Fun Day and Bushfire Information Day
A variety of emergency service vehicles and equipment will be available including police, ambulance, fire trucks and more!
Smokey the Koala will be making an appearance and there will be heaps of activities for the kids.
Free give aways from a variety of emergency services including a show bag, activities book and more.
Plus, local fire fighters will be available to help with bush fire survival plans and other bush fire preparedness information.
