Both Nathaniel Morrison’s under 14s side and Luke Langford’s under 15s side headed to Apex Park full of confidence – with both sides matched up against Victoria in the first game.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t a favourable draw for either side, as the Melbourne Storm’s feeder club went on to win the Southern Cup in both competitions.
Despite a try from Cody Giminez, the under 14 Bulls went down in their match 26-6, while the under 15s went down 28-10 – with Toby Peters and Jarvis Austin scoring four-pointers.
These losses saw both Bulls sides move into the Southern Plate part of the draw.
This saw Morrison’s side clash with Group 11 in their second match – a game they won 24-12 behind four tries from Noah Guyatt and one from Wesley Pring.
This win saw them progress to round two, were they went down 30-10 to Group Nine, despite tries from Taj Ford and Noah Guyatt.
Differently, Langford’s team went down in their round one Southern Plate clash with Group Six, losing 8-4, as Jarvis Austin scored the team’s lone try.
Morrison’s under 14s side featured Berry-Shoalhaven Heads’ Brodie Arkinstall-Brazenall and Ayden Curll, Gerringong’s Wes Pring, Taj Ford, Kane Graham, Liam Holland, Noah Morphett, Dylan Egan, Callam Roberts, Bailey Sassall, Hamish Stewart and Ashton Ward, Culburra’s Dylan Burns and Sam Colgate, Stingrays’ Cody Giminez, Noah Guyatt and Hayden Wilson, Milton-Ulladulla’s Blake Halls and Darcy Wooden and Albion Park-Oak Flats’ Harrison High.
