Support the CMRI Gerringong Committee by wearing denim, buying merchandise from their members at the IGA and by organising a table for the Jeans for Genes Trivia Night to be held at the Gerroa Boat Fisherman’s Club.

Tickets are $20 each and available from Cronin’s Liquor.

There will be great raffle prizes, giveaways and guaranteed good fun – it’s always a fast game and a good one.

You can also buy tickets in the denim quilt raffle. This is a queen sized quilt designed and created by Annette Hoskins, Robyn Jeffrey and Willi Harley who are Kiama Quilters and CMRI members.

The quilt was machine quilted by Carol Tabone from Shoalhaven Quilting and fabric was donated by Berry Quilt & Co and by Therese Rankmore of Gumnut Gear in Gunnedah. It is a bright and modern quilt that will appeal to all ages. The raffle will be drawn at the trivia night.

Jeans for Genes is the major national fundraiser for Children’s Medical Research Institute. CMRI is working towards a greater understanding of how genes work together in our cells and tissues during embryonic development.

CMRI scientists have made important discoveries about distressing conditions including congenital eye disorders, glaucoma, abnormal retinal function, gut dysfunction and craniofacial abnormalities such as cleft lip and palate.

One in 20 children worldwide is born with a congenital abnormality or genetic disease. Research is the key to solving the puzzles of childhood disease.
