Brad Rossiter won his third Major singles crown at Kiama with a thrilling 31-29 victory over singles master Geoff McIntyre. In a race to thirty-one, McIntyre held game with the scores at 30-29 in Rossiter's favour before Rossiter trailed the jack through the pack and picking up a score of one.
Rossiter led from start to finish and was able to hold off McIntyre throughout the game with a very consistent performance.
The Minor Singles final was just as exciting with pre tournament favourite Damien Loone going down 31-30 to Gary Brown in a last bowl thriller.
Loone shot out to ten shot advantage early before Brown fought back to lead going into the final ends. With the scores 30-29 in Loone's favour, Brown rested out Loone's game holding shot for a count of two, stealing the match away and therefore claiming his first title at Kiama since joining two years ago.
Attentions will now turn to the Illawarra Pennant Playoffs this weekend with the Kookaburras represented in Grades three and seven.
Grade Three will need to win twice this weekend, starting with their Minor Semi Final against Warilla at Woonona on Saturday.
Grade Seven finished top of their section and will travel to Bomaderry for a Major Semi Final against Dapto Huntley this Saturday.
