No one was in the car or the dwelling at the time of the incident.
The car took out a pylon, which was supporting the unit’s upper-storey verandah.
Kiama’s NSW Fire and Rescue crew and a heavy rescue unit attended to remove the car safely from where it had been lodged.
The heavy rescue unit kept the verandah propped up, while the BMW was moved out of the way.
It is understood the BMW driver may have accidentally forgotten to apply the handbrake while parking at the top of the steep driveway.
