Chair of Destination Kiama, Cr Matt Brown, said the long weekend action included country music, wine tasting, markets, fun runs, stingrays and sunrises.
“As we move off the beaches and into winter, Kiama is still the place to go if you want something to do on the weekend,” he said.
“With three days to fill this long weekend, there’s something for every member of the family, couples wanting a quick getaway, and those who enjoy the chill of the great outdoors.”
The long weekend action kicks off Friday night at 8pm with the KLC Gold music festival at the Kiama Leagues Club.
The festival runs all long weekend at venues across Kiama with award-winning, up and coming and local country artists. Visit klccountrygold.com for more information.
It’s also a festive weekend for wine-lovers with Crooked River Wines at Gerringong hosting The Winter Wine Festival with wine, craft beer, local food and live music.
There’s also wine tasting at Roselea Vineyard (Gerringong) while Mountain Ridge Wines (Coolangatta) is putting on live music as well to go with their wine tasting.
For those who enjoy their weekends a little more vigorous, Sunday’s 2018 Red Cross Fun Run is offering three different courses between Minnamurra and Kiama.
If you like nature to come to you, local ecologist Darren O’Connell is conducting his Kiama Stingray Show from 10am Sunday at the Kiama Harbour boat ramp.
While at the harbour you can also check out the Kiama Seaside Markets (Sunday) or wander up to Hindmarsh Park for yet more free music with the Pearl Essence Band.
