Grade one had a tough 61-55 victory at Oak Flats, while grades three and seven scored huge victories away from home and the fives came from behind to beat Figgy Bowlo 9-1 at home.
Each side will continue their playoff push this weekend, with three grades at home and the fives will hit the road.
Major singles first round matches were played on Sunday with no major upsets recorded.
Defending champion Russell Campbell defeated Craig Coleman 31-17 and will meet fellow number one skipper Steve Wills in round two.
Last year’s semi finalist Andrew Stewart was impressive in a 31-15 defeat of pennant team mate, Tony van Zanen.
Match of the day was no doubt Damien Loone's 31-30 comeback victory over new Kookaburra Gary Melleuish.
Melleuish held game at 30-28, before Loone trailed the jack and added another to pick up a three.
Loone will face senior zone representative Mick Weir in round two.
