The Werri Beach team of Dean Bowen, Zac Scott, Matt Gale, Doug Chandler and Tully Robinson lost a close battle in quarter-final number four finishing third behind Snapper Rocks and Avoca.
Snapper Rocks won the quarter-final comfortably scoring 103.77 with Avoca on 70.47, Werri Beach 67.90 and Newport Plus 62.06.
Werri's second surfer Zac Scott was their best scoring 24.00 that included a 7.17 and an 8.5 powerwave.
Werri Beach team captain Dean Bowen was disappointed with the result.
"We didn't lose by much and it was pretty tricky out there to find the right waves,” Bowen said.
"We all surfed really well in round one, so to miss out on the semi-finals by less than three points is heavy as we know we didn't put in our best performance.
“In the end, we ran out time and didn't give Tully enough time to get the scores needed".
Snapper Rocks Surfriders won the men's division as the D'Bah Boardriders women's team won their fourth straight Sailor Jerry Surftag Australian Title.
Merewether's Jackson Baker won the Rhondda Harrison surfer of the series award, averaging 6.15 for all his waves ridden in the series.
