Aboriginal Sports and Culture Day

Presented by the NSW Government’s Office of Sports Aboriginal Development Officer and the SENTRAL Youth Services team, we are inviting you to join us in a range of traditional Aboriginal Sports demonstrations and games, traditional dance workshops and to sample some bush tucker.

The event will take place in Hindmarsh Park on Tuesday, April 17 from 12 – 3pm and all are welcome.

Open Mic night

Reveal your talents out our Open Mic Night to celebrate Youth Week 2018!

Acoustic performances, drama, comedy, singing – you have 10 minutes in the spotlight, or just be in the audience and enjoy the free pizza.

The event runs from 5.30 - 7.30pm on Thursday, April 19 at Kiama Library and is for young people aged 12-24.

To register to perform go to www.trybooking.com/360841 or call SENTRAL Youth Services on 4233 1276.

This is a drug and alcohol free event.

Youth Week Cup

SENTRAL will be sponsoring the Gerringong Girls Under 16’s league tag team for their game during Youth Week on Saturday, April 28, providing special game day socks and the Youth Week Cup.

The Youth Week Cup is designed to highlight young people in sports and promote the amazing talent, commitment and dedication of local sporting teams.

SENTRAL is honoured to work with the Gerringong Lions Under 16’s girls team who are in their first year of competition and we would love to see supporters cheering the girls on.

‘Intergen Munch Out’ Recipe Book launch

The Intergen Munchout program is one of the great successes of Kiama Council’s SENTRAL Youth Services team receiving the 2017 Heart Foundation Local Government Award.

It has received considerable attention from news media, drawn to its ground-breaking mix of using food and eating to support social inclusion, building cross-generational relationships, and giving young people the tools to select and prepare healthy food.

To celebrate the success of the program, SENTRAL is releasing its own book, highlighting recipes created during ‘Intergen Munch Out’.

The launch will take place at the Kiama Farmers Markets at Surf Beach on Wednesday, April 18 from 3pm.

There will be copies of the book for sale.

SENTRAL Fitness Challenge

Youth Worker Dylan Powell, will be putting young people through their paces with a free group training session at SENTRAL on Tuesday, April 17 from 3 – 5pm.

A free meal will be provided after the session.
