From April 5 to 11 well-known artisan from Wentworth Emporium Joanne McClelland and Kiama based artist Jeanette Prout will bring together their talents for a different approach to an exhibition, coordinating paintings with fabulously upholstered chairs.
Jeanette commenced painting with watercolour media as a resident in Galston.
Following advice to consider other art media, Jeanette has explored mixed media and acrylic painting. An interest in texture, colour and design has led to studies in Australia and overseas.
Her works cover all subjects – still life, landscapes, human figure studies, sculptures and fabric works, including colourful painted silk abstract garments in Annisilk Art label.
A move to the Illawarra region meant Jeanette began exploring new vistas and new stimulus.
After she saw amazing combinations in upholstery posted on social media by Wentworth Emporium, she paid them a visit.
Wentworth Emporium owner operator Joanne McClelland, takes an artisanal approach to her works.
Joanne enjoys matching design and colour to her customers’ requirements and has a great range in her palette of fabrics.
Conversations between Joanne and Jeanette revealed a synchronicity in art and design related activities.
