In appreciation for the community support the choir has received over the years, they are holding a free concert on April 15.
“The choir now has 50 members with most living in the Kiama Municipality,” choir leader Rick Norris said.
“We are particularly delighted that local MP Gareth Ward has agreed to be part of the concert and will entertain the audience on his violin.”
Conductor, Maree Shepherd, said the program would include songs from John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, The Carpenters and The Seekers as well as featuring some great Australian composers.
“The theme of the concert – Come Alive with Music - is also the title of a song written by John McKenna, the choir’s accompanist,” Mrs Shepherd said.
The concert will be held at the Joyce Wheatley Community Centre, Hindmarsh Park, Kiama commencing at 2.30pm on Sunday, April 15.
Bookings are not required, however seats may be reserved by phoning 4234 1764.
