In a major surprise the 2018 Shoalhaven Coast Winter Wine Festival has been cancelled.

In a post on the event’s Facebook page at 5.02pm on Saturday (March 10) it was announced the winter wine festival, which would have been the 15th annual event, which has grown year after year from just 120 visitors to over 10,000 participants in 2017 has had to be cancelled.
While a huge success in 2017, it outgrew the efforts of the hardworking volunteers and supporters, the post said.
Since last year’s festival, all the wineries with the support of Shoalhaven Tourism, NSW Police, Liquor and Gaming NSW, Roads and Maritime Services and others have been working hard for months to support the growth and prepare a safe and enjoyable festival for everyone in 2018.

In the last few days, however, it has become clear the organisers wouldn’t be able to meet all the requirements in time, so have had to cancel the festival, set down from the June long weekend.
The post said organisers would continue to work with Shoalhaven Tourism, NSW Police, Liquor and Gaming NSW and Roads and Maritime Services in order to develop safe and enjoyable events for the region – watch this space!’
Just weeks ago the committee announced the festival in 2018, was going to be as ticketed event.
Despite the official festival being cancelled, the wineries will be open as normal across the June long weekend.
