Kiama Jazz and Blues Festival president Becky Guggisberg estimated 5000 people visited the 40 venues during the first two days on Friday and Saturday.
“It is going off. It is so much fun. The whole town is full. The sun is out, there is a great vibe in every venue,” she said.
“A team of us came up with a new program that has worked really well. This year was the first time we ticketed a workshop. The people who attended the harmonica workshop on Saturday were absolutely thrilled. The other new feature is a vinyl store on Sunday with vinyl collected from all over the world. That is really exciting.”
There are 90 free gigs at the festival. Ms Guggisberg said people had flown in from Western Australia and South Australia. “And some from America have come out because they heard country blues legend Deak Harp is playing here.”
