Kiama Matinee Theatre is presenting a hilarious piece of nonsense inspired by the favourite TV shows Downtown Abbey, Upstairs Downstairs, Midsummer Murders, the Miss Marple stories and Country House Rescue.
The play – Murder Upstairs Downstairs at Upton Priory – is a riot from start to finish.
All proceeds from the four performances will go to the Kiama Lions Club’s Community Carers Respite Cottage in Shoalhaven Street, Kiama.
The Kiama Matinee Theatre has been established to provide day-time, low-cost theatrical entertainment which will also raise funds for local charities.
It plans to provide the community with three shows a year and is the brain-child of local playwright Ken Methold and actor/director Veronica Dzelde.
Performances will all be at the Kiama Uniting Church Fellowship Centre, 46 Manning Street, Kiama on Wednesday, March 14 (2.30 pm and 6.00), Thursday, March 15 (2.30 pm) and Friday, March 16 (2.30 pm).
The performance lasts approximately one hour and the ticket price includes refreshments after the performance.
Bookings are essential. All tickets can be purchased from Jennie’s Book Nook (4232 3344) in the Central Arcade, Terralong Street, Kiama.
Tickets are $20 each or $15 each for groups of 10 or more. As this is a fundraiser for a local charity, there are no concessions.
