Hear tales from famous violinist, Yehudi Menuhin’s, personal assistant

ADFAS Shoalhaven’s next lecture features Philip Bailey, who will give a presentation titled ‘The Venerable Venues’ at Berry on April 5.

Philip was born and raised in Sydney but in 1974, after a chance encounter, became personal assistant to the world famous violinist, Yehudi Menuhin.

This job and friendship continued for more than two decades. During this time, Philip travelled with Menuhin as he performed in the world’s most iconic concert halls and cathedrals.

Philip will take us on a tour of these venues, tell their stories and examine the compromise to be made between striving for architectural and acoustic brilliance.

ADFAS Shoalhaven is a local community group, which offers a series of informative, illustrated and entertaining lectures covering a broad range of subjects relating to the arts.

The speakers are world class, experts in their field and entertaining. Wine and a light supper follows each lecture. This is a great opportunity to chat about the lecture, catch up with friends and maybe even meet new ones.

Membership is available for $140 per year or you can pay $25 at the door for each lecture.

Details: Philip Bailey, The Venerable Venues, at Berry School of Arts, Alexandra Street, Berry on Thursday April 5, from 7.30pm-9.30pm.
