Team Weir advanced to the final after defeating Kiama new gun Tim Banfield 25-19 in a hard fought semi-final. Steve Wills’ side advanced to the final after a 32-9 victory over Geoff McIntyre giving Steve Winter his first finals appearance at the club.
At the halfway point in the final, Weir led 12-9 but a strong finish ensured a comfortable victory, losing only six ends in the whole match. Mick Weir is now two from two in titles in 2018 while it was Rod Logan's first title at Kiama since joining the club four years ago.
There is no rest for Kiama bowlers with the Club Fours beginning this weekend. Tom Hodgson will be looking to defend his title, starting his campaign with a tough first round match against Andrew Anstey.
Other stand-out matches include Dean Aitken taking on Russell Campbell and Martin Wilson playing Kevin Pepper.
