THE two Illawarra South Coast Dragons junior representative sides have returned from St Marys victorious, after strong wins against the Penrith Panthers in round two of the CRL Country Championships on Saturday.

First to take the field at St Marys Leagues Stadium was the under 16s Dragons, fresh off a 20-4 win against Monaro in round one.
The team, which includes Kiama’s William Webb and Ethan O’Connell, Shellharbour’s Cooper Askew, Albion Park-Oak Flats’ Jordan Morn, Logan Stubbs, Harley Nizza and Liam Lynch and Milton-Ulladulla’s Luke Millard from Group Seven, maintained their perfect record, defeating the Panthers 20-10, behind tries to Joshua Turla, Alex Lobb and Ben Byron – with Haryey Nizza (three) and Jay Patterson landing kicks.
Following this victory, the under 18s Dragons, which includes Albion Park-Oak Flats’ Jake Brisbane and Sione Lufe and Berry-Shoalhaven Heads’ Oliver and Charlie Parrish from Group Seven, chalked up their first win of the campaign, defeating Penrith 16-12.
In the win, Akima Opito, Nelson Sharp and Ammon Munro scored tries, while Sharp landed two conversions.
In round three, on Saturday, March 10, the Dragons will both face the Western Rams at the Collegians Sports Complex – with under 16s at 9.30 before under 18s at 10.45am.
