Mrs Johnston won the $500 Robert East Community Award and donated it back to the community.
With a massive junior base, 260 kids registered, the board is greatly appreciated.
“This allow more kids to use the boards rather than just sitting on the beach and waiting around,” Kiama SLSC Junior Activities Chairman Lachlan Payne said.
“Nippers is a good way for kids to learn the ocean.
“They hang around, do patrols, serve the community.”
Rotary and the SLSC have a long history together.
“It’s great to be able to work together and provide equipment, and make sure kids in our community are given that water safety knowledge,” Mrs Johnston said.
