The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is at 74 Bong Bong Street, Kiama.
The home, spread across two levels and offering Kiama coastline and township views, is positioned on a 670sqm parcel of land.
The home was masterbuilt 17 years ago, for the current owner, by Gavin Piper of Style Homes.
Features include open plan living/dining, as well as landscaped gardens with appealing rock walls and rear outdoor areas.
Selling agent, Michele Lay, principal at Ray White Kiama said the home didn't have a price guide at this stage, but they will seek market feedback following Saturday's open home.
“It’s right in the middle of town, and they don’t come up very often right in the middle of town,” she said.
“Bong Bong Street is really central… And the northerly aspect is sensational.
“We’ve had some really good inquiries, from Sydney and locally.
“It is unique, because it has been masterbuilt and is right in the centre of town, which makes it very attractive for people.”
Ms Lay said the home would have appeal to families, and also represented “the perfect work-from-home scenario”. “This is because it’s got a rumpus room, which used to be their office, which is right by the front door. So it’s totally private from the rest of the home.”
Other nearby sales during the past 12 months include a house at 5 Sommerville Close, which sold for $1.6 million; a unit at 4/2 Barney Street, which fetched $2,240,000; and a house at 7 Antrim Street, sold for $1,850,000 in December.
Despite suggestions of the market cooling in other parts of the region and state, Ms Lay said Kiama remained strong.
“We’ve been open all of January… We’ve still seen some really great, solid sales; some above market expectation sales,” she said.
Jamberoo gem sold
A Jamberoo home “set on a full acre with amazing rural views” has sold for the first time in three decades.
The home at 15 Drualla Road, Jamberoo recently sold for $1.37 million.
The property previously sold in 1988 for $80,000.
Agent, Colliers International Wollongong’s senior executive of residential Neil Webster said it was bought by an Illawarra-based family who needed to upsize.
He said it was a large home on the fringe of Jamberoo.
The home also features a separate studio or granny flat.
“It’s a beautiful four to five-bedroom home set on a full acre with amazing rural views and a private location at the end of the street,” Mr Webster recently told the Mercury.
