Woman, 20, indecently assaulted on bus headed for Kiama: police

A man has been charged after it’s alleged he indecently assaulted a woman on a South Coast bus overnight.

A 20-year-old woman boarded a bus at Bomaderry train station, heading for Kiama train station, when she was approached by a man about 11.30pm.

The man sat next to the woman and started up a conversation before allegedly indecently assaulting her.

The driver of the bus was alerted and contacted police. The bus was pulled over a short time later along the Princes Highway, near the Kiama exit.

A 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with indecent assault.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice and is due to appear at Nowra Local Court on March 13.
