Churchill and Croft-Trollope break into national Futsal side

Former Gerringong Breakers Harry Churchill and Finn Croft-Trollope will experience the trip of a lifetime when they represent Australia in the under 13s Futsal team to tour Spain in November.

Both former junior players for the Breakers have excelled at representative level over the past few seasons.

They were selected for the national team off the back of successful performances at the 2018 National Club Futsal Championships, where they played for the South Coast NSW team.

Harry said it had been a dream of his for as long as he could remember.

“I was absolutely stoked and amazed when I was told I had been selected,” he said.

“I am most looking forward to experiencing the high level intense games, meeting the Spanish players and the whole cultural experience.”

Finn was also shocked and excited to receive the call-up.

“I get to go to Barcelona and I've always wanted to go there,” he said.

“I also felt proud of myself and my coaches Wazza (Warren Lewiston) and Ben Osgood.

“I have always dreamed about my future in sport but never thought I would make an Australian team yet.

“I am excited to represent my country in Barcelona. I am also looking forward to meeting other kids from around the world who have the same interest as me – I can't wait to just play Futsal too.”

Harry and Finn both played for the breakers from the age of five in 2010 until the age of 11 in 2016 and then played for Southern Branch in 2017.

They will now continue training as well as start fundraising the $7,500 each required for the trip.
