Bowling first, the Jets had the Kookas in trouble early but some good middle order batting enabled them to reach 176 for their first innings (Lachlan Hall was outstanding with 6-39 off 17 overs, Tasman Berry 2-26). Unfortunately the Jets top order failed to fire  and they were bowled out for 104 (Will Grant 44, James Hayman 29no) and they will have to fight hard next week to stay in the match.

Gerringong second Grade were again valiant in defeat, going down to Oak Flats in a nail biter. Batting first the Rats were bowled out for a highly competitive total of 240 (Josh Spain 3-28, Ryan Micallef 3-40, Paul Berry 2-29).

The Jets chase was well on track at 4-213 (Ryan Micallef 51, Callum Young 50) but a late collapse (6-15) saw the jets bowled out for 228 and another frustrating loss.

There are some positive signs though and hopefully a win is just around the corner.

Gerringong 4th Grade continued their winning run and have made it seven wins in a row with another strong all round performance against Lake Illawarra.

Batting first lake Illawarra were bowled out for 142 from 39.3 overs (Ed Costigan 2-11, Brad Speering 2-14, Silas Lightfoot 2-15).

The Jets batsmen were in T20 mode chasing the runs down in 20 overs reaching 3/145 (Brad Speering 78no, Nathan Ward 40).

The Gerringong U16A’s (Combined side with Albion Park & Lake Illawarra) two day match against Wests Illawarra is in an exciting position going into day two next Saturday. Batting first, the combined side struggled and were bowled out for 87 off 31.2 overs.

Wests innings started well, but four late wickets (3 to Gerringong’s Fletcher Allerby) had Wests in quite a bit of trouble by the end of the days play at 6-49. They require 39 runs or the combined side four wickets to take first innings points.

The Gerringong U12s have won their first game back after the Xmas break against Shellharbour White. The Jets batted first and scored 3/123 from their 30 overs (Hayden Buchanan 24rtno, Elijah Chapman 20rtno, Ben Jackson 15no).

The Jets then ensured the Shellharbour side were never likely to chase the total down due to some quality bowling by all the bowlers, Shellharbour eventually reaching 4/67 from their 30 overs (Nate Smith 1-4, James Kunkler 1-5, Lucas Scerri 1-9)
