Registration for the social comp takes place at Kiama Golf Club on January 28.
Eight of the local 'grom' boardriders volunteered at the recent event and received excellent feedback about their conduct and helpfulness from Surfing NSW CEO Adam Huban and event organiser Ben Hill.
All of these juniors made it to state level competition last year and have their sights set on the WSL juniors one day.
However, if you’re not that confident, you are still more than welcome to join – young kids can have their parents pushing them on waves.
So what’s to love about Jones Beach?
“It’s a beautiful beach,” Dayan Conti said.
“There’s many different banks you can surf on,” Tahlia Collinge said.
“Every day you get to surf with your friends and have fun.”
“Some days it will have long walls where the waves keep on going and going, and some days it’s slabby where you can get some barrels,” Keegan Willetts said.
What’s to love about the boardriders club?
“You get free bacon and egg rolls,” Cooper Collinge said.
“And you get to have a good fun heat every month with your friends.”
“If you win it, you get bragging rights for a while,” Keegan said.
