The Gerringong Men’s Shed held its annual Rubber Duck Derby on January 8.
Hundreds gathered to watch the two races.
“The crowds were buoyed with anticipation as the ducks hit the water,” organiser Ken Harris said.
“Both went down to the wire, to the delight of all the spectators.”
First place winner in the first race, with ticket number 82 was won by Marcus, second with ticket 186 was Jan Goddard and third place with ticket 327 was Reg Ryan.
The second race was won by Justin with ticket number 491, second place was Christine with ticket 393 and third was Richard with ticket 418.
There was plenty of other prizes to be won, including the ‘Best dressed duckling’ for the little ones.
All money raised will help the Gerringong Men’s Shed purchase much-needed equipment and fund improvements to provide a place for men’s mental health and wellbeing in the local community.
Mr Harris thanked local businesses for their support and St Johns Ambulance and local Rural Fire Brigades for their attendance.
