A 15-year-old teenager and a male adult were both assisted from the surf in two separate incidents.
“A 15-year-old teenager was rescued at Bombo Beach this afternoon after he suffered spinal injuries,” Kiama Council Supervising lifeguard Andy Mole said.
NSW SES volunteers worked with Kiama Municipal Council lifeguards and NSW Ambulance paramedics to secure the patient onto a stretcher.
The man was then carried across the beach to an ambulance and transported to hospital.
The male adult was assisted from the water by members of the public at approximately 9.30am, prior to lifeguard patrol times.
“We are strongly advising the public to swim at the northern end of Bombo Beach between the flags and avoid the southern end of the beach,” Mr Mole said.
The Kiama Council lifeguards are on duty from 10am to 6pm seven days a week at Bombo Beach throughout summer.
