Denise Scott, who has lived in Kiama for 35 years, described the amenities as “an utter disgrace”.
“I have been to see council about the poor condition of the toilet block at Surf Beach but nothing has been done.”
“If Kiama wants to be a tourist destination it needs to provide clean, updated facilities. The toilet and showers are an utter disgrace, more like a third world country than a tourist destination.

“Spare toilet rolls left on the top of the cubicles often end up on the floor or are stuffed into the toilet.
“The toilet blocks are old, dark and in poor condition and badly needing a makeover, like the recent renovations of the toilet block at Black Beach and the Blowhole Point Rock Pool toilets.”
A Kiama Council spokesperson said any vandalism would be reported to police.
“While council crews clean the toilets daily, it appears the ceiling has sustained damage.”
“The toilets have been identified as requiring upgrades as part of the recent audit of public toilets in the municipality.
“Those upgrades will be considered for inclusion in the 2018/2019 asset management program.”
