Batting first, the Jets amassed a competitive total of 6/167 from their 20 overs (Manning Berry 47, Scott Groves 46). Requiring a run rate of 8.5 per over the Rats set about the task in good fashion, however some quality bowling in the middle stages ensured the Jets were able to ensure they would ultimately fall 10 runs short with Oak Flats reaching 6/158 (Will Grant 3-25, Josh Spain 1-23).
Gerringong second grade’s poor start cost them any chance of victory in the match against Albion Park.
Batting first, the Jets lost three early wickets to put them on the back foot and only a 38 run last wicket partnership enabled them to reach triple figures, their innings finishing on 126 (Adrian Allerby 28, Jimmy St Quintin 17, Fletcher Allerby 16). Albion Park were always in control of the match during their innings reaching 5/129 in 38 overs (Tas Berry 2 wickets).
Gerringong fourth grade continued their winning run with a strong win against the Kookas.
The Jets batted first and as is always the case at Jock Brown oval due to a ridiculously large boundary, were forced to do plenty of running to accumulate a highly competitive total of 9/184 (Brad Speering 59, Srikanth Kasaram 28).
The Kookas innings got off to shaky start losing three early wickets, however a 50 run fourth wicket partnership had them in a good position at the half way mark of the innings.
A good bowling partnership between Brad Speering and Scott Middleton through the middle stages really put the pressure on the Kookas middle order and put the game out of reach. They were eventually bowled out for 137 (Jono Nichol 2-4(2), Brad Speering 2-8(6), Scott Middleton 1-7(6).
The Gerringong U16A’s (Combined side with Albion Park and Lake Illawarra) team had a quality win against Corrimal.
Batting first the combined side scored a total of 146 in their first innings and they bowled Corrimal out for 82. The combined side then batted for a second time and were able to secure bonus points reaching 3/99 in 22 overs.
The Gerringong U14A’s fell short in their run chase against Kiama.
Kiama batted last week 137 off 47.3 overs (Jarrod Tiyce 3-20, Solomon Northey 2-6, Owen Wall 2-10).
The Jets innings started poorly losing four early wickets but a solid 38 run partnership between Tom Nolan (16) and Lachlan Weir (14) along with a handy contribution from Jack Quine (16) got the innings back on track. Unfortunately regular wickets from that point on saw the chase end all out on 84.
The Gerringong U12’s team lost against Shellharbour Blue.
Bowling first, Gerringong restricted Shellharbour to 4/130 off their 30 overs (Elijah Chapman 1-9).
The Jets then went about chasing the total but were always behind the run rate required due to some impressive bowling by Shellharbour, Gerringong’s innings finished all out 84 (Elijah Chapman 18, Riley Sheppeard 14no).
The Gerringong U11’s Green team remains undefeated securing a good win against The Rail Black.
The Gerringong U11’s Gold team continued their climb up the competition ladder with another good win against Kiama White.
Kiama batted first and scored 10/57 from their 20 overs (Vincent Sherrell 2-2, Tom Peterson 2-7, Marc Booker 1-4).
The Jets continued their impressive improvement with the bat scoring 2-131 from their 20 overs (Sol Parker 15no, Vincent Sherrell 10no, Rocky Hingle 9).
