The focus this year is on those doing it tough in the Nowra Shoalhaven area.
The community’s generosity has made a significant difference to those in need, supporting grandparents bringing up children, single parents, Indigenous families, refugees, the homeless and people living with a disability.
Once again the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Churches of Gerringong will combine to collect food and funds for Anglicare.
Most 2017 dated packed and tinned food is acceptable, but please ensure it is still within use-by-date.
Donations can also be given and receipts arranged at IGA. This money is then distributed in the form of food/utilities vouchers.
The group will deliver a brochure to letter boxes outlining dates people will be able to donate their food items.
Food items can be left at the following locations:
- 7 Blackwood Street, 6 Armstrong Avenue, 23 Sharpe Place, 47 Pacific Avenue, 40 Stafford Street, Gerroa.
- The Food Drive table Thursday, October 26 and Friday, October 27.
- Khans Super IGA have generously agreed to place a trolley, which will be available for two weeks from October 16 – 28, to donate food items and will be marked with Anglicare signage.
The churches look forward to the community once again pulling together and showing a spirit of care and generosity to those in need.
