Director Engineering and Works, Gino Belsito, said contractors would be repairing sections of road damaged by a landslip earlier this year.
“Due to the nature of the work it will be necessary to close the road to traffic to allow the work to be done in safety,” Mr Belsito said.
“While general traffic will be required to use alternatives routes, residents will still be able to access their properties.
“We will have traffic controllers in place to help residents safely entry and leave their properties.”
The closures will occur on Monday, September 25 to Friday, September 29, 7am to 5.30pm and Tuesday, October 3 to Friday, October 6, 7am to 5.30pm.
The road will be open to traffic for the weekend of Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, including the public holiday on Monday, October 2.
As part of the road works, council contractors will also be removing a number of trees alongside the road that have been identified as safety hazards.
“This will allow contractors to widen the road, install guard rails and improve site lines for drivers,” Mr Belsito said.
“Council has engaged a contractor to undertake a wildlife and habitat report prior to removing the trees.”
