The fete committee adopted a carnival theme for the day.
It has been three years since the previous fete.
Activities included nail art, craft corner, recycled clothing, story corner, chocolate wheel, show bags, homemade cakes, slices and biscuits, a plant stall, pre-loved books, clothing and kitchen appliances, handcrafted goodies and a fresh produce stall.
Punters were also entertained by buskers, singers and dancers.
Media liaison officer Lizzie Smith said the event had been ‘‘an absolute hit ... a huge success beyond our expectations’’.
Mrs Smith said although they were still tallying the funds raised, ‘‘the turnout and support was beyond our wildest dreams’’.
The aim of the fete was to raise funds for Gerringong Public School, most notably for the library.
‘‘Everyone had a big smile on their face,’’ she said.
