Now in its third year, the annual fundraiser provides the community with an opportunity to contribute to students’ learning and wellbeing by purchasing a fresh-cut Christmas tree from the P&C.
“The trees are sourced from a local farmer and delivered to the school for collection by the community within 24 hours of being cut,” Minnamurra P&C president, Ms Kirrily Martin said.
“So they’re really fresh and green, lasting well beyond Christmas. We also provide buyers with information on how to care for their fresh-cut tree at home.”
Ms Martin said the annual fundraiser is growing in popularity, raising thousands of dollars in much needed funding for school students.
“We’re immensely grateful for the community’s support,” she said.
“Money raised through the Christmas Tree fundraising drive has helped to fund a new playground and air conditioning for all classrooms.
“In the future, the students will need new technology to support their learning.”
Members of the community can order a 6 foot, 7 foot or 8 foot Christmas tree for $60, $70 or $80. Orders must be placed by Thursday, November 29:
- Online via www.flexischools.com.au (register as a friend of Minnamurra Public School)
- Or via phone 0412 819 197
The fresh-cut Christmas trees will be available for collection from Minnamurra Public School at 85 Charles Ave, Minnamurra from 8-10am on Saturday, December 1.
