Where do you live?
Kiama, with views over the little blowhole.
Where is your hometown?
Greenethorpe NSW. The home of share farming in Australia.
Greenethorpe is situated about 40 kilometres west of Cowra NSW and Iandra Castle just up the road.
How does Kiama differ from your hometown?
Greenethorpe is a cropping and grazing farming area. Lachlan river is the closest permanent water source. While in Kiama we have the big ocean on our door step. A dry period (drought) at Greenethorpe can be devastating while a dry period in Kiama is still OK.
The Canola flowering and the contrast of Patterson’s curse flowering in the paddocks can’t be beaten but as ugly it is in winter a flowering Coral tree in spring looks pretty good in Kiama.
I have recently taken up a great interest in dancing/ballet and I am becoming reasonable at first position.

What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your spare time?
Hobbies went out the door when I contracted LOOF (Late Onset Of Fatherhood) when my daughter Emmerson was born five years ago. I have recently taken up a great interest in dancing/ballet and I am becoming reasonable at first position.
Occasionally I play the odd game of rugby but the recovery period is taking longer and longer. Spare time is taken up as tournament director of the Kiama Sevens.
Writing poetry for the wife.
What are some fun facts people don't know about you?
I enjoy entering the Kiama Show. I have won the “largest onions” a couple times in the fruit and veggie pavilion section. I would encourage everyone to have a look on the Kiama Show website and see what you can enter. It’s great to have a bit of competition with your neighbours.
What is your favourite thing about the area?
It keeps evolving. There are plenty of passionate locals and critics which is OK if you have a credible solution.
The natural beauty of the area, the ocean and a great place to bring up a family. Kiama Inn Hotel is in there somewhere as well!
The best rugby sevens tournament in the world. I’ve been to a few seven’s tournaments throughout the world and nothing comes close to the views, standard of teams, and what it brings to Kiama.
Where is your favourite holiday destination?
Anywhere there is a swim up bar, some rugby sevens. The Pacific Islands top the list.
