For many years, the family has been long-time sponsors, occasional exhibitors and regular attendees.
Given that motor vehicles are in Jemma’s blood thanks to her family’s automotive business, it’s not surprising that her earliest show memories are watching the Holden driving team and admiring the vintage cars.
The 22-year-old nursing student from Kiama Downs said she was excited to be part of the competition.
“I've heard many great things about it, and I'm sure I'm going to have lots of fun,’’ she said.
“Some of the things I am hoping to gain from this experience is a further understanding of community functions and about Kiama’s farming and agriculture.
“I am also excited to see what goes on behind the scenes of organising something like the show.
“On a personal level, I am looking to build on my confidence.”

Jemma, who enjoys playing hockey, playing piano, bushwalking and makeup artistry in her spare time, said she would like to continue her family's longstanding involvement with the community as a possible young ambassador.
“I love many things about Kiama, it has been my home since I was born and I feel very privileged to have grown up in such a beautiful place.
“Community engagement is something that I've grown up around, being the granddaughter of two amazing people (my grandma Colleen Hart and my grandad Warren Hart). They were so driven by helping others and contributing to the local community, it is something that I value highly.
“I believe community involvement is extremely important because a successful community is determined by the people that help and support others every day and do their part in small but valuable ways.’’
The 170th Kiama Show will be held on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27, 2018.
