Kiama wedding photographer Mathew Sacco from The Evoke Company welcomes the boom, though it may not have a great impact on his already thriving business.
“I’m busy enough as it is,” he said.
“I shoot 55 weddings a year.”
Mathew thinks other photographers will benefit from a change in the law.
“There might be more of a spike in bookings with same sex couples who have been waiting to get married for a while,” he said.
He’s pretty well-connected among South Coast photographers, and he believes they’ll be treating same sex weddings as business as usual.
“I’ve pretty well talked to the majority of photographers down here, they’re all accepting of same sex weddings,” he said.
“I’ve done a one or two civil ceremonies with same sex couples before, I’d be happy to do a wedding.”
